Rather than contributing to a spectator/entertainment orientation, music is to be offered as a beautiful sacrifice of praise to God on behalf of the entire congregation in corporate worship (Hebrews 13:15).
Choir Rehearsal Resumes September 8th at 6:00pm
Youth Choir (grades 3-7)
The youth and children’s choir programs are established under the conviction that the future of congregational participation in the music of the church lies in the training and nurturing of its youth and children. Youth Choir & Children’s Choir sing for the Call to Worship on various Sundays throughout the year. The Youth Choir is directed by Carol Vanderlip and Michelle Trexler. Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays from 6:00 to 6:45 during the school year.
Children’s Choir (age 4 – 2nd grade)
The five main goals of the children’s choir program are:
1) Teaching children about worship and the choir as an important tool in worship,
2) Teaching children biblical truths from a biblically-based repertoire from a wide variety of genres,
3) Teaching children to sing beautifully,
4) Teaching music literacy, and
5) Having fun accomplishing these goals.
The Children's Choir is directed by Julie Lindsay & Jane Kolb. They meet each Wednesday (September - April) from 6:00 – 6:45 pm. They sing in the morning service several times a year and particularly during the Christmas and Easter seasons.
