Youth Project:
Elements:
The project has chosen 7 main areas of the person to center our attention in order to better glorify God. These elements are described in Scripture and are used as a guide for building our youth into the image of Christ.
They are the body, soul, mind, heart, hands, waist, and feet.
Body: Romans 12:1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.
Soul: Deuteronomy 11:13 And if you will indeed obey my commandments that I command you today, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul.
Mind: Romans 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world,1 but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Heart: Ezekiel 11:19 And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh.
Hands: 1 Timothy 2:8 I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling
Waist: Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness;
Isaiah 11:5 Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his loins.
Feet: Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, "Your God reigns."
Ephesians 6:15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.

OUR HOPE FOR YOU
… is that each youth finds out that they are here for one purpose and that is “to effectively strive to know how to Glorify God in our lives. And by doing this, you will find that you can Enjoy Him, in a way that the world can never offer, by a relationship with their Savior Jesus Christ Forever!
REFORMED:
We want our time to be edifying and fun at the same time. So for half of the time together we will play games that will make your hearts pound! We want you to have a blast while you are with us. We hope you leave with the excitement of coming back for more next week. Basketball, indoor hockey, messy-games, and much more will planned for you every single week. The second half of our time will be used for concentrated time with the Lord.
As revealed in the Scriptures we learn that God is holy and man is not. Therefore we must seek to be like the One Who is perfectly holy: The Man Christ Jesus! Because of this truth, we will strive to teach the Scriptures and what they say about us in relation to God. Therefore each week we will strum the guitar to great hymns of our past, pray to the God Who Created us, study His Word with eagerness and excitement, reach the lost for Jesus Christ, and enjoy the fellowship of each other by His Spirit. We hope you will find this is the place just for you!
What to expect:
A place where true community is experienced. What do we mean by this? Well, we want our students to know that there is more to learn from those who are in a different age bracket than ours. We find great value in communities other than the youth. A great fear of ours is that the youth leave here and only learn from each other. As important as that is, we believe that our youth must learn from those who have “been there and done that.” While seeking to learn from the elderly to the infant, parent & sibling, pastor & school teacher, and many others, our community of youth will be stronger in Christ because we have sought to gain godly wisdom from others.
So a lot of what we do involves everyone in the church. We have events such as Youth VS. Experience where in one weekend we compete in basketball, volleyball, Family Feud, Bible Jeopardy, flag-football, home-run derby/softball game, and much more. (Currently we have lost ALL 3 YEARS! So maybe you can help stop that streak?) We also have a mentor program where students are paired up with various age groups of the church in order to establish a relationship that would possibly never happened otherwise. When you have a basketball game, softball game, concert, or whatever your involved in, you can expect that your mentor will make every effort to be there to support you.
These are friendships that you will be surprised you love to have! When we go on trips (ski-trip, mission trip, camping trip, etc.) you can plan on having a variety of age groups there. Again, you’ll be surprised how much fun you can have… especially when you watch an adult tumble down the ski slopes The Project is designed to allow a multi-community church be driven towards one true community. |
